Astrid's Work - Pilkington Glass
Pilkington Glass 1974
In the following year Astrid was again working for Gardner, this time creating a work representing the art of glassblowing for the Pilkington museum in Mersyside.
I photographed this in it’s original maquette form, but I have the feeling that this was actually made into a bronze casting.
Frequent enquiries of Pilkington have failed to uncover any definitive statement about its possible location.

It has been a poignant joy to create this website - joyful because my partner and I so loved Astrid, but poignant because remembering her reminds us of her loss. Yet her exuberance, innocence, and love of life is captured for all time in her work.
